- You can be asured that you and your child are treated with utmost respect and consideration.
- We are here to help and support you and your child . We have very positive experiences with diversion and probation officers, most are very fine professionals who strongly desire for the youth to succeed , We collaborate with them closely in the process of working with you and your child.
HERE IS HOW WE WORK WITH YOUNG PEOPLE ODERED BY THE COURTS:
- Regardless of the situation or circumstance a young person between 12 and 18 comes to our clinic, we will perform a through assesement to determine the right clinical approach that is most helpful to this adolescent One size does not fit all!
- All our efforts go towards “not loosing” this young person to drugs, crime and the difficult unfullfilling life of the streets.
- We will discuss our impressions from our professional evaluations with the young person and we will urgently invite the parents, or guardians to join. Together we will map out the course that is most beneficial for the young participant.
- We look at the youth’s history for any signs of emotional or physical injuries , that can cause a person to self medicate with mind altering substances, and we address them in a trauma informed clinical approach.
- We are strong advocates for the young people we work with.We will support them at school, at IEP meetings, we will accompany a young program participant to court , or any other event, where our advocacy and support is helpful for the youth to overcome obstacles and to succeed.
- We make home and school visits if appropriate and necessary.
- We offer to work with the young person’s school, their teachers and coaches, their clergy, probation officers, other service agencies.
- We believe in prevention, we blieve young people need jobs, meaningful activities outside of school. They need opportunities to show their creativity and to practise their strengths. We help the young people to access those community resources.
